How to use md5 check sum software to enhance software download security?
https://www.novirusthanks.org/products/md5-checksum-tool/
Step3. Unzip in disk
Step7. Check the CHECKSUM and compare result of MD5 Checksum Tool V4.3 which is
0394ECFA994DB75EFC1413207D2E5AC67AF4F6685B3B896E2837C682221FD6B2
Bingo , they are the same.
How did it happen?
Because the Algorithm of SHA 256 is build in both the CentOS and the Checksum tools , when they measure the same file , the fingerprint must be the same. So we can use it to check if there is a little mismatch of the file between the CentOS Team release and what we download.
